Types of irony

Irony is

is a literary device used by many authors to   describe a situation where what we expect is very different from what actually happens.

Types of irony

• Verbal Irony

• Situational irony

• Dramatic irony

Verbal Irony

Verbal irony is when you say something different than what you mean. This is done intentionally by the speaker, often with the hope that either the listener or the audience recognizes the presence of irony.
