Day 1 An Outback Adventure

My name is Mia, and I live in a small town in the Australian Outback. The sun is already beating down as I wake up early in the morning. My family has lived here for generations, and every day is an adventure. The desert stretches as far as I can see, with only the occasional cactus or red rock formation breaking the view. Today, I’m going to help my dad check the water tanks, which are very important out here. It can get so hot, and water is something we never take for granted. I put on my wide-brimmed hat and grab my backpack, ready to face another long day under the blazing sun

We made sure to bring plenty of water because in the outback,It’s easy to forget how quickly you can get dehydrated, especially when the sun is out and it is 90 degrees out here. My dad and I could only limit each other to one sip whenever we got really hot. When we sat down to rest we heard a rattling in a tiny little bush and it was a giant snake and I got scared. We waited till night time when the sun went down to start walking again. We finally got there but we only had one bottle of water and one half of one. “Dad I can’t anymore we don't have much more water” “Yes we can. Here take the rest of the water” We keep on walking and it feels like a marathon but you're walking. “Dad we are almost here, don't give up yet.I see a cactus. Let me go run over there and get the water out of it. Here dad drink the water. After all of that i’m never going with my dad to check the water.

As I traversed the wide open desert the heat was slowly wearing me down. My whole body at that point felt like melting in the hot sun, but eventually I make it to the water aquifer. I take some water in my hands and I drink a bit so I have enough strength for the long walk back. I grab a big bucket and I scoop up the water and I start my journey back to the house. I eventually made it back with almost no problems. Except my right arm, which is feeling like I just dropped 150 kgs on it, and I could barely move it.

Day 2 Visiting the Great Barrier Reef

I had always dreamed of visiting the Great Barrier Reef, and today that dream finally came true! My family and I took a boat out to a spot where we could snorkel in the crystal-clear waters. As soon as I put on my mask and dove in, I was surrounded by an underwater world that I had only seen in books. Colorful fish darted around me, and I could see huge coral formations all around. I even spotted a sea turtle gliding gracefully by. I never expected it to be so peaceful under the water.

8

As I swam around the reef, I could feel a lingering presence nearby. It was almost like the strange presence wanted to be known, but not seen just yet. As I was stopped at a closeby reef, I felt something come close behind me. I looked back from the corner of my eye, only seeing a grey-like blob behind me. I froze up immediately. Could it be a shark? I slowly turned around in the water, facing whatever was in front of me. And to my surprise, it was only a Dugong, a sea cow. My body relaxed in the water as I slowly calmed down. The Dugong came up close to me, as if it was curious about who I am. I

9

I decided to grab a diving suit and snorkeling gear to dive underwater to experience the beautiful scenery below me. I dipped under the boat my family was on and admired the colorful corals, the hundreds of fish, and the sea turtles scattered around this area. Even the water was so clear it was like I could drink it, even though I didn’t. It’s like the coral never stopped, spanning across miles, it felt like even though it was smaller than that. I swam over to a sea turtle and began petting its head, it felt soft and rough at the same time. It was so fascinating because I’ve never seen anything like it.

Day 3 A Koala's Day

I am a koala, and today I woke up from my nap in the eucalyptus tree. The sun is warm, and the leaves are fresh and tasty. I spend most of my day eating leaves and sleeping, but I also have to be careful. There are other animals around, like kangaroos hopping through the forest and birds calling from the trees. Lately, I’ve noticed that the trees are getting fewer in number, and sometimes I have to travel farther to find a good meal.

12

As I climb down from the eucalyptus tree I see a road ahead. I decided to cross the road to get to the other eucalyptus trees. As I crossed the road I made sure to be careful since humans drive very fast and do not pay attention to animals.when I finally reach my next meal these only a few leaves left. “ I guess the other animals were here first”. I moved to the next tree. I finally climbed up the eucalyptus trees and ate the bright green leaves.I was very tired and needed a nap.

13

It's really hard to travel around and go to find food when it's so far away. But I ate all of the leaves on my tree, and then I went back to sleep. Once I finally woke up a bird passed by and I said “ Hey do you know where the closest eucalyptus tree is, I’m really hungry.” “ No sorry,” the bird said. A couple hours later I started to smell fire. “ OH NO, I'M GOING TO DIE.” But I made it down safely and I got to go live in a zoo.
