Wajarra songs were sung for entertainment by native Australians traveling stock routes with livestock.

Music Influences of Asia
Northern Asia is the country of Russia. Russian music combines both European and Asian styles and is often described as passionate and mystical.
Western Asian music has two main characteristics; the use of the drone (a constant sustained pitch) and unusually close intervals.
The music of Southern and Southeast Asia is highly rooted in religious and cultural traditions. Because of this, music is extremely diverse across the regions.
The main factor is the special scales or pitch collections the music is built on.
Central Asia was the home to the Silk Road, a trade route from Europe through Asia. Traveling musicians brought their melded styles along the route. Bowed string instruments are also thought to have been developed in this region.
Melody is extremely important to the music of Eastern Asia. The sound of the music can be defined by it's use of plucked string instruments.

Music Influences of Australia
Australian music features a unique aboriginal (native) instrument, the didgeridoo.
Folk songs have evolved into a form of country music that shares traits with the country music of North America.
New Zealand is considered by some to be a microcontinent of it's own. The Maori people of New Zealand have their own musical traditions.
Traditionally, the music performed is called waiata, which is a special word for "to sing." This kind of vocal music is performed in unison in a chant-like style.
