Blood now has oxygen..

• blood returns to the heart through the pulmonary veins

• blood is received by the left atrium

Oxygen rich blood sent to the body

• blood pumped from left ventricle

• aorta and arteries send blood to all body tissues requiring blood supply

Oxygen has been used up

• blood returns to the heart through the vena cavae

• blood is received by the right atrium
