Modal Verbs for Requests – WOULD and WILL

A. Would

Usage: We use would to make polite offers or requests. Would ប្រើសម្រាប់សំណើរ ឬការស្នើសុំយ៉ាងគោរព។ ប្រើពាក្យនេះនៅក្នុងភាសាផ្លូវការឬអនុវត្តន៍ល្អ។

  • Would you like some water?
    (តើអ្នកចង់ទឹកបន្តិចទេ?)

  • I would like some soup.
    (ខ្ញុំចង់បានស៊ុបបន្តិច។)

Would you like…? = polite question.

I would like… = polite way to order or ask.


B. Will

Usage: We use will to say what we want to choose or decide at that moment. Will ប្រើសម្រាប់សម្រេចចិត្តក្នុងពេលនោះ ឬស្នើអ្វីៗយ៉ាងគួរសម។ ប្រើនៅក្នុងភោជនីយដ្ឋាន ឬការបញ្ជារអាហារ។

  • I will have the chicken curry.
    (ខ្ញុំនឹងយកការីមាន់។)

  • Will you bring the check, please?
    (តើអ្នកអាចយកវិក័យប័ត្រមកឲ្យខ្ញុំបានទេ?)
