What are adverbs?

Adverbs are words that modify or describe verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They often provide more detail about how, when, where, or to what extent an action is performed.
Example: Minh eats slowly. The underlined word, slowly, is the adverb in the sentence. It describes how Minh eats.

Trạng từ là những từ dùng để bổ nghĩa hoặc mô tả động từ, tính từ hoặc các trạng từ khác. Chúng thường cung cấp thêm thông tin về cách thức, thời gian, địa điểm hoặc mức độ mà một hành động được thực hiện.
Ví dụ: Minh ăn chậm. Từ "chậm" là trạng từ trong câu, mô tả cách Minh ăn.

Categories of adverbs.

Adverbs of manner (describe how something happens): He runs quickly.

Adverbs of Frequency (describe how often something happens): She always wakes up early.

​Adverbs of manner

Adverbs of manner describe how actions are performed. They add detail to verbs, explaining the way something happens.

Subject + Verb + Adverb of Manner + (Object/Complement)

Example:

Quickly (She finished quickly.)
Slowly (He walked slowly to the door.)

Carefully (She is writing carefully.)

Happily (She danced happily at the party.)

Loudly (He spoke loudly to get their attention.)

Carelessly (Kia is writing carelessly in his book)

Quietly (They spoke quietly in the library.)

  Usually placed after the verb or after the object

                  He drives carefully.

She speaks English fluently.
