​The symbols 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are called digits.

​The value of each digit depends on its place. That's called the place value system.

​5,734 = 5 thousands + 7 hundreds + 3 tens + 4 ones

​(Remember to use a comma after every 3 digits starting from the right!)
