The Past Simple tense is used to talk about actions or situations that started and finished in the past.
• Form of 'be' (was/were):
◦ Positive: I/He/She/It was; You/We/They were.
◦ Negative: I/He/She/It wasn't (was not); You/We/They weren't (were not).
◦ Questions: Was I/he/she/it...?; Were you/we/they...?.
◦ Short answers: Yes, I/he/she/it was. / No, I/he/she/it wasn't. | Yes, you/we/they were. / No, you/we/they weren't.
