A group of words that contains a subject AND a predicate (verb).
Clauses form the building blocks of sentences.

Two kinds of clauses
INDEPENDENT CLAUSE
It can be a
COMPLETE sentence.
DEPENDENT CLAUSE
It is a PART of a sentence.

Review: A phrase
A group of words that contains a subject OR a verb.
They work together, like ketchup and mustard on a hot dog, as a team within a sentence.

The word "to" followed by the base form of a verb.
Infinitive phrases can act like a noun, adjective, and adverb.
