Particle "no" for Nominalization

The expressions for saying what you “like to do” contain a word standing for an activity (a verb) in its dictionary form. The dictionary form is how verbs appear in a dictionary and tells the meaning of the verb with no tense or level of politeness. It is very much like the infinitive of the verb in English: “to + verb”.

To say that you “like” to do an activity, add the particle no (の) after the dictionary form of the verb. This use of the particle is called nominalization, which means “using a word that is not normally a noun as a noun.” Once you have added no (の), you can add the expression ga suki desu (が好きです), meaning “like.”
