​Explore: You just described the three ways heat moves — by touching something hot, by moving warm air or water, and by invisible rays of energy. Those are called conduction, convection, and radiation — and today we’re going to explore how each one works.

​How is CONVECTION related to DENSITY?

​Think of a lava lamp: the blobs of wax heat up, rise because they’re less dense, cool down, sink because they’re more dense, and the cycle repeats. That’s convection!
