Commas make our writing clear and easy to read when we list actions.

Without commas:

  • I can hop skip and jump.

With commas:

  • I can hop, skip, and jump.

How to Use Commas in a Series of Verbs

1️⃣ Use commas between three or more verbs.
2️⃣ Use
“and” before the last verb.

Examples:

  • The dog will run, bark, and wag its tail.

  • We laughed, clapped, and cheered at the show.

Tip: Don’t put a comma after “and”!
