How do we find the area of a trapezoid?

we have two ways we can solve for the area of a trapezoid.
Top picture: Shows us we can divide the two bases by 2 after adding base 1 and 2 and multiplying them by the height.

while the bottom picture shows us we can multiply it by 1/2 and still get the same answer.

example:
we can take both bases add
them together then divide it
by 1/2 before multiplying
them by the height.
remember you have to
square answer as it is
the area.
