Learning Objective

Identify various types of suturing materials, needles, and instruments commonly used in surgical procedures.

Demonstrate proper handling and passing of suturing instruments to the surgeon.

Running (Continuous) Sutures:
2-5mm spacing

Simple Interrupted Sutures:
4-5mm spacing

Distance from Wound Edge:
3 mm to 5 mm (ensure needle enters through healthy tissue rather than inflammatory zone)
