What Are Irregular Plural Nouns?
Definition: Nouns that do not follow the standard rule of adding -s or -es.
The Transformation:
The word may change completely (person → people).
Some letters may change (mouse → mice).
The word may stay exactly the same (sheep → sheep).
Key Tip: Because they don't follow a single pattern, these often need to be memorized!

The "No-Change" Nouns
Some nouns are identical in both singular and plural forms.
Context tells you how many there are!
Sheep → Sheep
Deer → Deer
Fish → Fish

1. The -es Rule (-s, -x, -ch, -sh)

2. The "f" to "v" Rule (-f, -fe)

Consonants vs. Vowels
The letter before the "y" determines the change:
Consonant + Y: Drop the y and add -ies.

Vowel + Y: Just add -s.
