What Are Irregular Plural Nouns?

Definition: Nouns that do not follow the standard rule of adding -s or -es.

  • The Transformation:

    • The word may change completely (person → people).

    • Some letters may change (mouse → mice).

    • The word may stay exactly the same (sheep → sheep).

  • Key Tip: Because they don't follow a single pattern, these often need to be memorized!
