If your brakes fail...

• 1. Call for help. 2. Put on flashers. 3 Pull off road.
• 1. Pump brakes. 2. Use parking brake slowly. 3. Shift to lower gears
• 1. Slam on brakes. 2. Shift to lower gear
• 1. Shift to lower gear 2. Slam on brakes.

If your tire suddenly goes flat...

• 1. Release the steering wheel 2. Slam brakes
• 1. Hold onto the steering wheel tightly. 2. Stop on the road.
• 1. Hold the steering wheel tightly to go straight. 2. Slow down gradually. 3. Pull off the road to a safe place
• 1. Let go of the steering wheel. 2. Hold down parking brake. 3. Stop immediately.

If you have power failure...

• 1. Release the steering wheel. 2. Keep driving until you get to your destination.
• 1. Hold onto the steering wheel. It will be difficult to turn. 2. Pull off the road. Push hard on the brakes.
• 1. Call for help. 2. Pull off the road.
• 1. Hold onto the steering wheel. It will be difficult to turn. 2. Call for help.

If your motor keeps going faster and faster...

• 1. Keep your eyes on the road. 2. Quickly shift to neutral. 3. Pull off the road when safe. 4. Turn off the engine.
• 1. Hold onto the steering wheel. 2. Continue to use the gas as normal. 3. Turn off the engine
• 1. Keep your eyes on the road. 2. Shift into reverse. 3. Turn off engine
• 1. Put on your emergency flashers. 2. Keep your eyes on the road. 3. Turn off engine

If your headlights suddenly go out...

• 1. Hold tight to the steering wheel. 2. Turn on your flashers. 3. Continue to your destination.
• 1. Pump your brakes to get other drivers' attention. 2. Turn on your flashers. 3. Continue to your destination.
• 1. Shift to neutral. 2. Call for help
• 1. Try the headlight switch a few times. 2. Turn on flashers/fog lights. 3. Pull of the road as soon as you can.

If you have ABS, you do the following to stop quickly..

• Press the brake pedal and pull the emergency brake.

• Press the brake pedal as hard as you can and keep pressing it.

• Pump the brake pedal when you feel it pushing back

• Lock the brakes

If you do not have ABS and need to stop quickly...

• Pull the emergency brake

• Apply the brakes as hard as you can without locking them. If you start to skid let off of the brake. Once your car straightens, hit the brakes hard again.

• Apply the brakes down with a pumping motion. If you car skids, turn in the direction you want to go in without releasing the brake.

• Pump the brakes up and down. If the car skids let off the brake.

To avoid an accident you have three options...

• Slow down, Brake, Speed Up

• Stop, Turn, Speed Up

• Speed Up, Skid, Brake

• Skid, Speed Up, Turn

When skidding you should do all of the following EXCEPT

• Stay off the brake

• Steer in the direction you want the vehicle to go

• Stay off the gas pedal

• Pump the brakes
