5. First Challenge

• The hero has the first encounter with the villain or the villain's followers

6. Temptation

• The hero comes across something too good to ignore / is distracted. MUST OVERCOME!

• The hero has to decide whether or not to eat a salad instead of ice cream (I mean, it's BROWNIE FUDGE ICE CREAM!)

• The hero considers leaving the adventure world

• The hero must avoid returning home

7. Dark Moment

• Near climax: hero faces major hurdle / life or death crisis. Pulls through.

• At the beginning: a death starts the hero on his adventure.

• This is the last step, when the story or adventure ends.

• After the mentor teaches the hero, the hero must decide whether or not to face the first battle.

8. Final Battle

• Climax of the story: the big battle where the hero must use everything learned along the way.

• This is where the hero is taught by the mentor

• Near the climax, the hero must overcome a temptation (that ice cream, though)

• Green Bay Packers v. themselves. I mean... can we go ONE game without an injury? I'm just saying. The battle is within. And without. #TheStruggleIsReal #ThisIsGoingToBeOurSeason (DON'T PICK THIS ONE OR YOU'RE GROUNDED!)

9. The Return Home

• The hero is able to make it back to the ordinary world, but everything is changed a little now.

• This is the exposition of the story, where we learn what the hero's ordinary world is.

• This is where the hero must face the villain or one of his followers for the first time.

• ONLY here will the mentor even consider teaching the hero anything.

* Refusal of the Call (Pick TWO)

• The hero doubts he can go on the adventure/is worthy/capable/should... the hero kind of refuses.

• This doesn't always happen, but it does pretty often.

• The hero will ignore the phone if the hero does not recognize which number is calling.

• The hero decides to pretend NOT to be home when the villain or the mentor stop by unannounced.
