PST - T1 MANUAL INTRODUCTION

T1 students are from 10 to 12 years old. Our aims could be summarized like this

• Integrate the 4 abilities; to develop their writing skills and maximize communication skills

During early adolescence (ages 11-13), development usually centers around developing

Why do we present the Past Simple before the Present Simple?

• Because the Past Simple is not more difficult than the Present Simple; talking about the past is conceptually simple in both L1 and L2; we tend to talk about things that happened to them slightly more often than they talk about routine.

There are four moments to assess T1 students:

• Test: Listening, Reading & Use of English, Writing, and Speaking.

• Continuous evaluation ; Quiz and blood tests

• Continuous evaluation ; Quiz and Test: Listening, Reading & Use of English, Writing, and Speaking and Cambridge exams.

T1 students are at level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), they can sit for this Cambridge Exam:

• Flyers (for students between the ages of 7 and 12 y.o.) By sitting this test students are encouraged to quit studying English.

• Movers (for students between the ages of 7 and 12 y.o.) By sitting this test students are encouraged to stop studying English as they earn the 'shields' that record their progress.
