What is point of view?

• the problem or struggle between opposing forces-external and internal

• the perspective from which a story is told

• a logical guess that is based on facts and one's own knowledge and experience

What is alliteration?

• the comparison of two unlike things NOT using like or as

• the repetition of initial sounds in neighboring words (ex. Sally sells seashells.)

What is an argument?

• giving human qualities to animals or objects

• refers to a writer's unique way of creating ideas

• a carefully stated claim supported by reasons and evidence

What is author's purpose?

• is his or her main reason for writing (ex. an author may want to reflect, inform,persuade, or entertain the reader

• an idea or feeling associated with a word in addition to its literal meaning

• event that introduces the central conflict,thrusts the protagonists into the action of the story.

What is character motivation?

• dictionary definition of a word
