What are spring brakes?

• They are the springs on the brake pedal.

• If the air brakes leak down, springs apply the brakes to stop the vehicle.

Air tanks must be drained

How do you adjust a manual slack adjuster?

• Turn the adjusting nut to move the end of the slack adjuster away from the air chamber as far as it will go. Then turn the nut the other way to move the brake shoes toward the inside of the brake drum.
