Last holiday, my family decided to visit my grandparents in Yogyakarta. Grandma and Grandpa live in a small village. There are a lot of rice fields around their house. It was such a hot day, we decided to have lunch in one of the huts in the middle of a rice field. Grandma had cooked delicious traditional dishes for us. The breeze was perfect and we were so hungry. When all of us gathered in the hut, the sky grew darker. Suddenly, it rained heavily. There was no time to run to Grandpa's house, so we remained in the hut. However, water poured into the small hut. Everything got wet, including our lunch.

There are three major sanctuaries, the Brahmana, Syiwa and Wisnu sanctuaries. They are truly stunning. We went by just Brahmana and Syiwa sanctuaries, on the grounds that Wisnu sanctuary is being remodeled. On Saturday morning we went to Yogya Kraton. We spent around two hours there. We were fortunate on the grounds that we were driven by a brilliant and amicable aide. At that point we proceeded with our adventure to Borobudur. We touched base there at four p.m. At 6 p.m. we heard the declaration that Borobudur entryway would be closed. In the evening we left Jogjakarta by bus.

GOING TO THE ZOO

Yesterday, my family and I went to the zoo, to see the elephants and other animals. We went by car and left home 7 at a.m. It took about one and half hours to get to the zoo.

When we got to the zoo, we went directly to the pet shop to buy some animal food. We spent fifteen thousand rupiahs on the food. After getting the food, we first visited the nocturnal house where birds and reptiles-which only come out at night were displayed. It was really interesting. After that we went for a ride on an elephant. It was a thrill! My dad nearly fell off when he let go of the rope.

At 12.15 p.m., my mom and my sisters prepared the lunch. We ate our lunch under a big tree near the elephant area. After lunch, we went to the bird park. We fed some of the birds inside the park. When we returned home we were tired but happy because we had so much fun.
