You are happy there is a good atmosphere in the office but feel uncomfortable about the effect it is having on your employees' work. What would be the best response?

1. You have been working with Gbenga, the key person on a new project that could result in a significant order. From your discussions with Gbenga, you believe you will get the order. When you leave Gbenga’s office you happen to see Uche, whom you worked with on a previous project.

After a brief greeting, you are about to leave when Uche makes a comment: “Things are not always as they seem.” He quickly disappears into a meeting room before you have a chance to respond.

What do you do?

• Call Gbenga and ask when a decision on the contract will be made.
