Comparatives and Superlatives

A 'Comparative Sentence' is created when:

• we use and adjective to compare it to the rest of elements

• we use an adjective to compare 2 elements or more

• we use and adjective to compare only 2 elements

To create a comparative sentence using the adjective 'heavy' we must:

• add -er ending to the adjective

• take off the 'y' ending and replace it with 'ier' ending

• using 'more' before the adjective

A 'Superlative Sentence' is created when:

• we use an adjective to compare 2 or more elements of the same family

• we use an adjective to compare 2 elements of the same family

• we use an adjective to compare one element to the rest of elements of the same family

when we use the comparative 'less' we must:

• keep the adjective the same

• use the adjective with -er ending

• modify the adjective by adding 'less' ending

When we create a superlative sentence using the adjective 'important' we must:

• add -est ending after the adjective

• add 'the most' before the adjective

• add 'the most' after the adjective

To create a comparative sentence using the adjective 'bad' we must:

• add -er ending to the adjective

• use the word 'worse'

• add 'more' before the adjective

When we use the superlative form 'the least' we must:

• keep the adjective the same

• modify de adjective by adding 'the least' after the adjective

• Add -est ending to the adjective

To create a superlative sentence using the adjective 'long' we must:

• Add -er ending to the adjective

• Add -est ending to the adjective

• add 'the most' before the adjective
