How to get a Job

If you personally go into a business to pick up a job application,

• it doesn't matter how you look or dress

• dress professionally or appropriately for the job

• go in with a friend for moral support

• have a friend go in for you.

When picking up or dropping off an application, if you get an opportunity you should:

• introduce yourself to the manager

• try not to interrupt anyone

• not bother the manager

When completing an application, you will want to

• fold it neatly and place in your pocket until you can fill it out

• use pencil and fill out quickly

• use black or blue ink and be neat

• staple your picture to it before turning it back in

In the section of the job application that asks when you are available to work, you will want to:

• just leave it blank

• make sure to clearly list the time(s) and day(s) that you are available

• say "whenever is fine"

• say "it doesn't matter"

A reference can be

• anyone that knows you

• your parents

• some one that has knowledge of your work habits and character

• your friends

On a job application, employers may ask about special skills; this section

• can be left blank

• should be completed only if you have work experience

• is important and can make you standout, if the right skills are written

An easy way to have your application put into the "NO" pile is to:

• not spell check your application

• use pencil and have many errors

• have a lot of scribbles

• all of the above

A resume is

• a summary of one's background, work experience and accomplishments

• a summary of one's work experience

• a list of everything a person has done

• a list of what a person can do for a company

What is the purpose of a resume?

• to get you an interview

• to get you a job

• to show off your accomplishments

When beginning an interview, the first thing you should do is
