What is the Bible?

• The Bible is God’s advice to man. It is sometimes true and trustworthy in everything it says.

• The Bible is God’s suggestion to man. It is usually true and trustworthy in everything it says.

• The Bible is God’s holy word given to man. It is always true and trustworthy everything it says.

• The Bible is God’s word but so are other books by other religions. It is true in some things but not everything.

Who wrote the Bible?

• One person wrote the Bible many years ago. He was guided by his own wisdom and knowledge.

• People chosen by God wrote the Bible. They were guided by the Holy Spirit to write every word.

• Many people wrote the Bible, and each one was chosen by the church. They wrote only what the pastor told them to write.

• People chosen by leaders of the government wrote the Bible and they were guided by the wisdom of teachers and smart people.

Why is the Bible important?

• The Bible teaches me about God and his gospel. It is the only book that has divine authority.

• The Bible teaches me about God but it is not the only book that was given to us by God’s authority.

• The Bible and other religious books teach us about heaven and how to be saved.

• The Bible teaches me about God and the gospel, but I don’t have to read it.

The Bible is God’s word. No other book is God’s words. Did you know that God’s words created the world! God’s words also sustain the world and hold it together. God’s words change people’s hearts and save them from their sins. If people don’t hear the word of God, they cannot be saved.

How can I be saved?

• I can be a good person! That is good enough. God wants me to be a good person, and I am good.

• By doing many good things, loving people, and going to church. The true gospel is doing good things to be saved.

• By repenting of my sins and doing good things to make God happy. The true gospel is found only in being a good person.

• By repenting of my sin and believing the good news about Jesus. The true gospel is found only in the Bible.

By faith you have been saved through faith and this is not of yourselves. It is a gift of God not a result of works lest anyone should boast.

How can I know God’s word?

• I know God’s word by reading the Bible. I should meditate on the Bible everyday.

• I know God’s word by listening to my own heart and doing what I think is best for my life.

• I know God’s word by listening to other religions teach about God.

• I know about God by searching for truth in the world. There are many truths.

How can I obey God.

• The Bible teaches me how to obey God. It is the only book that tells me who God is and what he demands of me. In order to know God’s commands, I must read the Bible.

• The Bible teaches me some of God’s commands. But I can be a good person and not read the Bible.

• The Bible teaches many good things. But other religions teach good things too and I should study them to know God’s commands.

• The Bible is good and it is important but my sports and school work is more important than the Bible. I can obey God without reading the Bible.
