Maritza went to visit her grandfather's farm for spring break. In the morning she goes to the chicken coop to get some eggs. Then she spots a really big unfamiliar egg, she picks it up and brings it home. She wants to know what kind of chicken would lay a blue egg. Her grandfather smiled and asked her to do some research about the kind of chicken that would lay a blue egg. 

• Maritza found a special egg in the chicken coop.

Ally must return her library book and she can't find it. She searched the house. She doesn't want to search her closet because it's so messy. However, when she opened her closet door, a rat was sitting next to her book. Ally sat there looking at the rat and wondered if she should run out of the room or if she should be brave enough to reach for the book.

Amiya is making cupcakes and she can't get enough icing on the last one. She tries to put chocolate syrup on it, but it looks bad. Then she tried to put whipped cream on the cupcakes, but it all fell off. Then she puts ice cream on the cupcakes, but it looks messy. Finally, she found more icing, but there was no more room on the cupcakes. 

• Amiya is good at baking, but she never plans ahead.

• Amiya loves making cupcakes.

• Amiya should have went to the store for more icing.

• Amiya tried many toppings on the cupcakes, but they didn't look good.

The boys are quiet as they walk back through the forest. Now it’s time for bed. While they brush their teeth, Meg traces a leaf and maps the area eaten by insects on graph paper. When they are all ready for bed, Meg arranges the mosquito netting. She also gets the book for their bedtime story. 

• Meg's sons had a long day in the forest and she gets' them ready for bed.

• Meg works while her boys prepare for bedtime, then she reads them a story.

• Meg makes sure the boys are not attacked by mosquitos, by putting a net over their bed.

Dayana's blueberries finished growing today and she's going to go pick them. When Dayana gets to her farm all her blueberries are gone, but she sees little footprints. She thought that it was her little cousin, but she doesn't like blueberries. Then she heard a munching sound in the bushes. She went to go check and saw a bird eating her blueberries. 

• Dayana needs to protect her blueberries from birds

• Dayana will have to grow more blueberries.

Heaven was hiking up a very steep mountain. She had her bag with all the food she needed. When she made it to the top, she found a very tiny wooden hut. She went inside to eat her lunch and saw a deer. The deer looked very hungry and Heaven felt sad. She gave the deer all the fruit and vegetables. Then she led the deer down the mountain. Heaven also adopted the deer.

Auri showed her mom the big egg she found outside. She also made a cozy bed for the egg. When it hatched, a few days later, a small little brown baby bird was walking around her small room. Auri gave the bird food and water. She also named the little chick Mimi. When it was almost time for Auri to go back to school the bird was all grown up. It was a Falcon.

• Auri is really good at taking care of wild birds.

• Auri rescued a large bird egg. The bird grew into a falcon.

Angelica was on a walk in her neighborhood and saw rabbits stealing her neighbor’s crops. Angelica ran to the furry thieves and shooed them away. Then she saw that the rabbits had taken 6 out of the 11 carrots that Mrs. Lucy had in her garden. Suddenly, Angelica had a great idea. She came back with 16 ripe carrots and put them all in the garden. Angelica would rather do this because Mrs. Lucy gives everyone in the neighborhood fruits and vegetables from her garden. 

• Angelica is a good neighbor.

• Angelica stopped the rabbits and gave her neighbor lots of carrots.

• Mrs. Lucy is lucky that Angelica arrived in time to rescue her crops.

• Rabbits should not steal carrots from Mrs. Lucy's garden.

Lilly had to take care of seven dogs for her friend Jade. She lost one, while she was letting them play outside. Lilly asked her friend Amir to help her find the lost dog. Lilly looked everywhere and could not find the dog. She quickly hung-up posters about the missing dog, on trees and lamp-posts. When it was time to give the dogs back to Jade, she told her about the lost dog. Jade started to laugh and told her that the dog had returned home.  

• Hanging posters is a good way to find a missing dog.

• Lilly and Amir had to find the lost dog.

• Lilly is not good at taking care of dogs.

• Lilly lost her friends dog, but the dog returned home to Jade.
