• Collect, verify, and synthesize evidence from the past to establish facts that defend or refute a hypothesis

• Purpose is not simply summarize existing knowledge, but to develop a new understanding of a research problem using synoptic reasoning

• The researcher maintain control over all factors that may affect the result of an experiment

• This type of research is used to measure what impact a specific change will have on existing norms and assumptions

What is Meta-analysis?

• Design is conducted about a research problem when there are few or no earlier studies to refer to or rely upon to predict an outcome

• is an analytical methodology designed to systematically evaluate and summarize the results from a number of individual studies, thereby, increasing the overall sample Meta-Analysis Design - size and the ability of the researcher to study effects of interest

What is Generalization?

• A measuring instrument is said to be valid when it measures what it is expected to measure

• It means that the data collected through a sample must be suitable for drawing conclusions about the population

• It means that if a respondent gives a particular reply to a question, he is expected to give the same answer even if he is asked repeatedly
