How do cells "know" which of the 3 Ds they will carry out? Select the correct choices below

If a cell is lacking external molecules A, B, and C, it will carry out apoptosis.

External Molecules A, B, and C only activate transcription factors which will then activate genes for cell death.

External Molecules F and G activate transcription factors which will then activate genes for basic cell survival.

External Molecules D and E activate transcription factors which will then activate genes for cell division.

What is the role of a transcription factor?

They bind to ribosomes to active RNA polymerase so proteins can be made and the gene can be activated.

They bind to the promoter region at the beginning of a gene and turn it on by attracting RNA polymerase to begin transcribing a gene.

They bind to mRNA after the gene has been transcribed by RNA polymerase. This way ribosomes can translate the mRNA into protein.

The bind to DNA so that the ribosome is attracted to the promoter where RNA polymerase transcribes the gene. Then protein can be made.

the Alcohol dehydrogenase gene is inactive in the liver cell, but the neurotransmitter gene is not expressed

the Alcohol dehydrogenase gene not expressed in the neuron, but the neurotransmitter gene is on.

the Alcohol dehydrogenase gene is active in the neuron, but the neurotransmitter gene is not expressed
