Who do you need to inform if a parent indicates their child received Special Education services in a previous district?

If a parent gives you their student's IEP or other documentation for services, you should...

Student's private information must be protected according to what Federal Act?

If the parents or IEP indicate a student was served in a separate setting that is not on your campus, you should...

• Tell them to go to the campus that has that class

• Tell them to call the Sped office and ask where they go

• Tell them the diagnostician will review their child's IEP and contact them regarding the campus

• Don't say nuthin!

When it comes to getting information to the Diagnostician or Speech Language Pathologist about a child's services, you:

• Must ensure they receive documents that same day or ASAP

• Can take your time and get it there when you get a chance

• Have 30 days to get them documents

• Don't have to give them documents at all, they'll figure it out on their own

When a student withdraws from school, you:

• Don't have to tell anyone. They can look it up.

• Don't have to document any information at all on the student.

• Notify the campus Diagnostician, SLP (if Speech) and Lisa Hinds

• Document why the are withdrawing - relocation, home school, private school
