If an attorney shows up to an IEP meeting what should you do?

• Proceed to hold the IEP meeting since you are the LEA but also let opposing counsel know we will put our attorney on notice.

• Explain that since Agora's attorney is not present the meeting cannot proceed and we will need to reschedule. Notify an AD/Director ASAP.

• Proceed with the meeting but also IM an AD/Director to let them know as soon as possible.

Prior discussions with ADs/Directors and approval are required for all of the following resources with the exception of:

• 1:1 state testing in the home

• Continued hours of BCBA services in the home for an annual IEP

• $1500 touchscreen computer

• Addition of 35 hours per week of in home PCA services

The special education case manager that I LEA for comes to me and says the parent is difficult and thinks their AD should LEA the meeting. What should I do?

• Ask the SE CM to share what "difficult" means. Is there a legal situation? Is there an ongoing situation that the SE CM can share with you? Still attempt to LEA the meeting if it is not a legal situation even if the parent is "hard to please" or may be angry.

• Pass on to the AD immediatly as we should not take any chances in the event there is a legal situation or a situation could escalate to a legal situation.

• LEA the meeting and roll with it.
