Baby Shower

This is a few years down the line but I think it's the most important parenting advice I could give: treating your child like an equally sentient human being does wonders for their confidence, autonomy, and your future relationship with them. I tried to never use baby talk, didn't dumb down my vocabulary, no "just do it because I told you so," or physical punishment. If you give them the same courtesy you would want from another adult that you're learning something new from, yeah they'll push your boundaries sometimes, BUT the mutual respect and trust you'll earn is priceless.

Change all the diapers, Clean the house, Cook, listen and be the best Partner, play less golf and never forget Valentines day and Mothers day are huge so go big. Happy Spouse happy house. Long days and short years. And finally what ever phase the baby is in is just a phase and it will pass.

My advice is to listen politely, smile, and say thank you when everyone who has already raised kids gives you advice. There will be a lot of it, and there probably already has been a lot. You're smart, intuitive, and you have the internet. Everyone has an opinion. Trust your gut. You'll figure out together how to do the best for your baby.

Tell your wife she is beautiful and get her a mani/ pedi 2x a month and stay with baby so she can be alone.

2) Make sure he's a Birds fan (I'll settle for Packers otherwise)
3) Keep a bottle of bourbon close (handy once the baby is sleeping)
