MEANING OF BCG

is called Mycobacterium bovis which is closely related to Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the agent responsible for tuberculosis. It prevents children from getting more severe forms of TB, particularly TB meningitis.

Mild fever, cough, rhinorrhea. This lasts 1 to 2 weeks

Begins during second week of illness. Paroxysmal cough. This lasts 2 to 3 months
