OTS 101 Cultural Humility

Today you are working, for the first time, with an individual who identifies as transgendered. You hold deep religious beliefs that oppose that gender identity. What should you as OT do?

• explain your discomfort, telling the individual that you will do your best to help them

One of your patients is a devout Orthodox Jew. She recently had a CVA and is in the rehabilitation hospital where you work as an OTA.
