HOLIDAYS NEEDN’T COST A FORTUNE
Holidays are meant to be relaxing times, but how can we relax if we’re worried about costs all the time? Here are some ways in which you can keep costs to a minimum.
First of all, research your holiday before you make any reservations. If you like all-inclusive holidays, look for last-minute bargains. 1 ______ You may not be able to choose where to go, but you can often pay half the price of a similar holiday booked in advance. If you aren’t booking through a travel agent, don’t just look at one website.
2 ______ You can often find the same flights and accommodation for different prices and you don’t want to miss out on any bargains.
You will almost certainly need foreign currency on holiday. 3 ______ You’ll probably save a fortune. And remember, the worst place you can do this is at an airport.
Don’t take too much baggage if you are flying. You are usually allowed to take 20kg, but try not to carry more than 15kg when you leave. 4 ______ Airlines may also offer you the chance to pay for a choice of seat. If you want to save money, let the airline choose a seat for you – free of charge.
Finally, be careful of phone charges. It can cost a lot of money to send or receive messages. 5 ______ So, only contact family and friends when you can use wi-fi.
Enjoy your holiday, but be careful and don’t come home to an empty bank account!
