SMART Goals

A SMART goal for me would become more knowledgeable when in comes to technology.  For my goal I would say that I will become more instructed and learned in the use of the technology provided in my classroom by the end of the year.

My SMART goal:   By May 2024, I will learn better classroom management skills by attending a minimum of two workshops and professional development in pursuit of  making my classroom a safer and more stimulating learning environment for my students.

I believe that a SMART goal to do for my development to become a teacher for now is to continue learning in each class that I take here in WGU as well as implement what I learn with the students I help. I will also make it a goal to ask more questions when in doubt and continue to develop relationships with my students and colleagues.

I will encourage peer communication by talking to the three other teachers per week on what I feel is going well and not so well in my classroom.

A SMART goal that I would like to work towards to better myself as a teacher is to complete a professional development course on instructional strategies for special education by the end of this school year.

One of my smart goals as a teacher will be to ensure in new education trainings as well as learning newer technologies to ensure my students get the best educational experience to help them learn the concepts. There are several different professional developments at the beginning of the school year that will implement my desire goals for my classroom.

A couple of SMART goals that I would like to work on that will support my development into becoming a teacher are sharpening my presentation skills, improving classroom management, and expanding the role of parents in the classroom.

I am about to take on a long-term sub position for the remainder of this school year for the teacher that I interviewed. My goal is to help the students grow from where they are currently while building relationships with them as well. This is a specific class with specific data.

A smart goal I want to accomplish is confidence in my instruction. I plan to use the community to help me reach this goal. Within the community, I can be in the classroom through volunteer opportunities. I plan to work on speaking in front of the class daily, increasing clarity, and slowing down.

A SMART goal I can work on that will support my development as a teacher is to find or join an online group in my community for teachers to help exchange ideas and help each other. I can do this by maybe looking at local Facebook groups or looking for local community groups online.
