Speaking Test App

As an assessor, you should ask the interlocutor about their GA marks:

• A) before you enter your analytical marks.

• B) after you have entered your marks for both candidates, confirming verbally as you enter the interlocutor ́s GA marks.

• C) after you have submitted the analytical marks for one candidate.

• D) after you have submitted the analytical marks for both candidates.

When searching for the right speaking test to select, look for:

• A) the written paper date.

• B) the speaking test date.

• C) the AM or PM session on the KAD (Key Assessment date)

• D) the speaking test window.

As an interlocutor:

• A) you use the app to input and submit your GA marks for the candidates you interview.

• B) you tell the assessor your GA marks as soon as the candidates have left the room.

• C) you do not use the app to input any marks.

• D) you give the assessor your GA marks when asked for them.

You will be automatically logged out of the app:

• A) after you have submitted any marks.

• B) if you close the app.

• C) after you have submitted the marks for the last group of candidates.

• D) after four hours of being logged on.

When selecting candidates as an assessor:

• A) do not enter any details of a dummy candidate.

• B) use the candidate number to avoid selecting the wrong candidate when there are multiple candidates with the same name eg. Klaus Müller

• C) only select one candidate when examining a single format special arrangements candidate.

• D) select the candidates before they enter the room and take their seats. (not a must)

If you lose connectivity during the speaking test and marks cannot be submitted via the app:

• A) make a note of these on a piece of paper and submit them once you get home.

• B) turn your device on and off and try to reconnect to the internet.

• C) switch off the WIFI connection and try to connect to the internet using data.

• D) use the Local Offline Record Sheet to record your marks for the candidates and hand this to the invigilator at the end of the session.

When using the app as an assessor, make sure:

• A) you are in flight mode.

• B) you have turned the sound off on your device.

• C) you are in DND mode.

• D) you cannot be reached by any whitelisted callers (favourites) even after having activated the do not disturb button.

At the end of a speaking examining session:

• A) check that you have submitted marks for all the candidates who are listed on the speaking test timetable/attendance register and who you have examined either in the role of assessor or interlocutor by accessing your examining history.

• B) make sure that the assessor has submitted the marks for the last group of candidates.

• C) sign out of the app.

• D) if any candidates were absent, only select and submit these as absent if it is the end of the speaking test window.

If you and your co-examiner are sharing a device:

• A) the person who owns the device should enter and submit all of the marks.

• B) each SE should use the device to enter and subit marks when in the role of the assessor.

• C) each SE will need to log on to the app with their own credentials when in the role of the assessor.

• D) an assessor should sign out of the app before handing the device to their co-examiner.
