• تيمم is Dry adlution. When a person is unable to use water due to the lack of water or due to fear to use water on account of illness, he shall perform dry ablution.

  The mode of dry ablution is striking the earth first to wipe the face with the intention to legalize the performance of obligatory rituals (Which requires ablution). And to strike again on earth to wipe the hands upto and including the el-bows. This is the dry ablution which substitutes ablution and bath.
