It is created by barriers within sender or receiver. It is a challenge of either the speaker or the listener, and in rare cases, both.

Example: hearing problems, talking too slow or faster

It is an interference that is external to both speaker and listener.

Example: ringing telephone, static microphone, phone calls

It is the mental interference in the speaker or the listener.

Example: preconceived ideas, wandering thoughts and sarcasm

It is a model of communication which depicts communication as a linear or one-way process consisting of five element: source, transmitter, channel, receiver and destination
