• Decide on lighting. How do you want to light your scene?

• Decide on a theme for your image. What message will your items convey?

• Collect items that add to your theme and can be used as visual interest to your image? Consider colors and textures that go well together.

• Place your camera directly above the items poing straight down.

• Decide on a background or surface in which you want to take your photo. Keep in mind the items' colors and textures you have selected.
