Competitions in Indonesia Independent Day Celebration This 17th August celebration is much better than before. There were many activities in my hometown. There were many competitions followed by children, adults, and even old people could join. There were many competitions for children like bringing a marble on a spoon eating crackers, breaking water in the plastics, entering a nail into a bottle, running in a sack. Many children joined those competitions happily. There were many competitions for adults such as pulling rope, doing makeup, dancing, running using sacks, and so on. Those competitions were not only followed by men but also women. And then we had a very special competition for women that was catching fish. This game was so unique and fun. This was justfor women and they had to pay for registration before joining it. The competition for old people was climbing pinang tree. This was the most difficult competition. The competition started in the afternoon and it could be finished in the evening. The last, there was a happy night with full music. In the framework of giving the gift for all winners, the villagers asked them to come together in front of the stage. While dividing the gift, all people could enjoy nice music. It was a very rare moment, I do hope next August the celebration will be more glamorous than this. I plan to sing also in the celebration
