Marvin Anderson, a volunteer firefighter, was wrongfully convicted of rape in 1982 due to eyewitness misidentification. Despite having no criminal record, he was sentenced to 210 years in prison. The Innocence Project took up his case in 1994, and DNA evidence eventually proved his innocence, leading to his exoneration in 2002. Anderson spent 15 years in prison and four years on parole. His case highlights the flaws in the criminal justice system, particularly the issues of eyewitness misidentification and the importance of DNA evidence. Today, Anderson is the chief of the Hanover Fire Department and credits his faith for his resilience.
