Kenos, an ancestor sent by Timakuel, organized the Selknam's land and created the sun. He pushed the sky higher and from the soil, created the Selknam. After aging, Kenos and his companions entered a dream-death state, but later were reborn. Inspired, the Selknam attempted the same, transforming into natural elements upon death. Eventually, Kenos returned to the heavens, and his companions became stars, illuminating Tierra del Fuego.
