In 1905, Frank Epperson, an eleven-year-old from Northern California, accidentally invented the popsicle. While making a DIY drink, he left it outside overnight, and it froze. The next day, he discovered the frozen treat and began sharing it with friends. As he grew older, he started selling them as 'Eppsicles.' The name later evolved into 'popsicle,' possibly from 'Pop's 'cicle' or a combination of 'lollipop' and 'icicle.' Today, popsicles are a popular treat, with approximately 2 billion sold each year.
