A group of migrants and refugees were rescued near the Libyan coast and taken to Sicily. Among them were many children who arrived in Messina with their toys. Medical staff and the Red Cross attended to them. Tragically, the bodies of four migrants who died during the journey were also recovered. According to the International Organization for Migration, over 227,000 migrants have arrived in Europe from January to July, mostly from Libya.
