Peru's police conducted the first drug incineration of 2014, burning 11 tons of drugs, including cocaine. The drugs were seized in operations from late 2013 to March 2014, disrupting several trafficking networks aiming to export to Mexico. Peru is the leading producer of coca and cocaine, surpassing Colombia and Bolivia. Much of Peru's cocaine is trafficked through Bolivia to Brazil, then to Europe and Asia, where its value increases.
