The Qing Dynasty, lasting from 1644 to 1912, was the last imperial dynasty of China, founded by the Manchu. It expanded significantly under Emperor Qianlong, becoming one of the largest empires with a flourishing economy and culture. However, internal rebellions and external pressures, such as the Opium Wars, weakened the dynasty. The Boxer Rebellion and revolutionary movements led by figures like Sun Yat-sen eventually resulted in the fall of the Qing and the establishment of the Republic of China in 1912.
