In the 1970s, an indigenous tribe in the Brazilian Amazon was nearly wiped out by gunmen hired by ranchers, leaving only one survivor. This man lived in isolation for decades, known as the 'Man of the Hole' for the ditches he dug for protection. He fiercely resisted contact, shooting arrows at intruders. Discovered in the 1990s, his area was protected as a nature reserve in 2007. He passed away in 2022, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and the importance of respecting indigenous rights.
