The Grand Hotel in Beira, once a luxurious establishment, now houses 750 families living in dire conditions due to the aftermath of the Mozambique Civil War. The hotel lacks basic amenities like electricity and running water, and its former grandeur is a distant memory. Residents, including many children, live rent-free but face significant hardships. Despite these challenges, the population continues to grow, with over 3,500 people now calling the hotel home.
