VOICED : Primer amputado con protesis sensible

Wolfgang Dranger lost his leg in 2007 due to a stroke. He now feels like he has a foot again thanks to a new prosthesis that provides sensation. This innovation, developed by the University of INSS, has eliminated his phantom pains. The prosthesis requires nerve redirection surgery and includes sensors that mimic the lost limb's sensation. Six months post-implantation, Dranger is active and feels unique sensations. The prototype costs between $11,000 and $34,000. Professor Egger hopes small companies will help reduce market prices.
