VOICED : Oposicion descarta que sus gobernadores cedan a Constituyente

Julio Borges, the president of the Venezuelan Parliament, stated that opposition governors will not submit to the pro-government Constituent Assembly to assume their positions. The governors plan to make decisions collectively, rejecting the Assembly, which they view as illegitimate and dictatorial. The Assembly, which has absolute power since August, issued an ultimatum that governors must comply with. Borges denied knowledge of a meeting announced by Lady Gómez. Legally, governors must swear before regional councils, but the Assembly demands prior submission. The ruling party won 18 of 23 governorships amid allegations of irregularities and low opposition turnout. If governors do not comply, they will be disqualified, and new elections will be held, warned President Nicolás Maduro.
